Does class attendance impact my Pell or NC NBS award?

Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary and the College at Southeastern require attendance for all undergraduate students enrolled in on-campus, in-person courses.

Per federal and state guidelines, all undergraduate students are required to begin attendance and continue attending their courses throughout each term in order to remain eligible for all their federal and state financial aid.

Students are considered to have unofficially withdrawn when they cease attendance or academic engagement in all their courses, so that they do not complete the course requirements.

  • For students in all on-campus courses, ceasing attendance will be determined by the course attendance records.
  • Since attendance is not required in online courses, for students in online courses, ceasing attendance will be determined by the last date of activity.
  • Courses listed as on-campus but that are internships, practicums, or otherwise occur outside the classroom will be treated as online courses for the purposes of attendance.

If a student does not begin attendance in at least one course that is eligible for Title IV funds in a payment period, he/she is not eligible for any federal funds.

If a student does not begin attendance in a given course during a payment period, then he/she is not eligible for the funding allocated for that course.
