This document contains the basic information for the Keesee Grant. This is not a full list of all the requirements for the Keesee Grant, only a list of the basic highlights. If you have any questions, please contact the Financial Aid Office at financialaid@sebts.edu.

Below are the basic eligibility requirements for the Keesee Grant:
Residency
- Students from Virginia, West Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Kentucky, or Tennessee may be eligible for the Keesee Grant
- Students must have been a resident of one of the states listed above for a full 12 months prior to beginning a degree at any institution in order to be eligible
- Students cannot establish residency while being a student, either at Southeastern or at another institution
Academic
- Students must be enrolled in the Doctor of Ministry Program in order to be eligible for the Keesee Advanced Degree Grant.
- Students must maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher (new students with a 0.0 GPA are also eligible)
Enrollment
- Grants are not available for doctoral students enrolled solely in online classes
- Students must be enrolled in at least one “Qualifying Class” per semester
- The following course types are considered Qualifying Classes: on campus, hybrid, equip, practicum, extension center, intensives
- Only courses within your Keesee eligible degree program will count towards eligible enrollment
- There are some unique requirements around continuous enrollment courses for DMin students. Please contact the Financial Aid Office if you have questions
- Students in the Dissertation/Writing Phase are eligible for grants provided they were eligible to receive a Keesee grant prior to entering the writing phase of their program
Church Membership
- You must be a member of a Baptist church affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention, Southern Baptist Convention of Virginia, Cooperative Baptist Fellowship, Baptist General Association of Virginia, a state or national Baptist Convention or Original Free Will Baptist
Application Window
- Opens January 1st on each academic year
- Summer/Fall and Winter/Spring Semester for the Academic Year Deadline is May 1st
- Winter/Spring ONLY for the Academic Year Deadline is November 1st
